Marketplace Rules & Privacy
BOOTH is an inquiry marketplace for professional DJ equipment. Sellers and rental providers are identified in their listings and agree transactions directly with buyers. Some listings may be offered by BOOTH’s operator through its own trading business; that relationship must be disclosed in the listing and quote. The named seller or rental provider remains responsible for its transaction. BOOTH does not provide lending, escrow, insurance or equipment inspection.
Listing Rules
- List only equipment you own or are authorized to sell or rent. Disclose financing, liens, ownership restrictions, repairs, modifications and all known faults.
- Upload original photos of the actual equipment, except for standard club-system rentals from BOOTH-approved rental providers. Those providers may use labeled catalog images after confirming regular cleaning, checks and handoff preparation. The exception does not apply to sales, modified systems or known functional issues. Approved manufacturer-reference covers are explicitly labeled and do not replace actual photos. Modified or custom-painted equipment must include original photos of its actual appearance inside the listing; its reference cover is labeled when the finish differs. Each original photo is reviewed against the BOOTH photo standards. Do not upload identification documents, banking information or photos you cannot publish.
- Describe exact quantities and inclusions. New means unused. Used gear below Excellent condition is labeled Discount; older-generation models are Vintage.
- State the full equipment price or daily package rate, fulfillment fees, availability, deposits, inspection arrangements and returns/cancellation terms. Your terms must not remove rights that apply by law.
- No counterfeit goods, stolen equipment, misleading descriptions, fabricated reviews or claims of BOOTH verification. Club DJ covers players, mixers, controllers, turntables and club-system packages. Mobile DJ covers PA speakers, booths and facades, stands and event effects. State exact models and rated capacities; do not make unsupported safety or performance claims.
Review and Transactions
BOOTH may request changes, pause or remove listings. Publication means a listing passed a completeness review; it is not proof of identity, ownership, condition or future performance. Buyers should verify the seller and equipment before payment. Do not pay anyone who claims a BOOTH protection or escrow service exists.
Messages and estimates are inquiries, not confirmed bookings or purchases. BOOTH does not process funds. Final payment, invoicing, taxes, shipping, insurance, inspection, refunds and rental contracts are agreed with the seller. Financing is unavailable until an approved provider is connected.
Service Fee Preview
Older saved drafts may contain a proposed 2.5% service-fee preference. It does not create a charge or payment obligation. No service fee is currently charged. Checkout, fee collection and payouts are not active; any future fee requires updated terms and clear acceptance.
Privacy in This Pilot
ChatGPT sign-in supplies a site-specific user identifier and account email. Google sign-in supplies a Google account identifier, verified email and available profile name. BOOTH uses a secure session cookie for Google sign-in and stores only a hash of its token on the server. Sessions expire after eight hours; sign-out revokes them. Google and ChatGPT accounts remain separate and are never merged by email. BOOTH stores seller profile details, drafts, photos, declarations, serial information, favorites, inquiries and messages to operate the marketplace.
Published trading names, city, bio, listing text and approved equipment photos are public. Drafts and serial details are visible only to the account owner and BOOTH administrators. Inquiry details, including your email and any address you enter, are shared with the relevant seller when you give consent. Conversations are available to their participants.
Data is stored using the Sites hosting platform’s database and file storage. BOOTH remembers your chosen rental area on this browser. It requests device location only after you choose “Use my location.” Campaign link tags and their first-visit time are kept in this browser tab until it closes. They may be attached to a new request for up to 24 hours after that visit, helping BOOTH understand which introductions produce inquiries. The tags remain with that request and its retry reference. No third-party advertising pixels are loaded.
Drafts and account activity are retained while needed to provide the pilot. To request access, corrections, account deletion, or report a listing, use BOOTH support. Archived listings are removed from public browsing but are retained in the seller account and relevant inquiry history until a deletion request is handled. Email notifications are not enabled; check your dashboard for replies.
Saved Setups and Private Links
Account setups store the name you choose, equipment selections, quantities and order. Event dates and contact fields are not included. A private link records the recipient email chosen by its owner and requires that recipient to sign in. No invitation email is sent automatically. The owner can revoke a link or remove a saved setup to disable future access. Copies already imported, printed or downloaded cannot be recalled. Disabled setup and link records are retained for retry safety and account support; contact BOOTH to request deletion. Device-local setups remain in the browser where you saved them.
Requests Without an Account
The guest request form collects your name, email, optional phone, location, equipment needs, requested dates, the referral label and any campaign tags in your link. Only BOOTH administrators can read these requests. BOOTH may contact you about your request and will ask before sharing your contact details with a provider. Submitting a request does not subscribe you to marketing, reserve equipment or confirm a price. A confirmation reference is shown on screen; automatic email is not enabled. After you submit, an unconfirmed copy of your request and contact details may remain in this browser tab to recover an interrupted save. It is cleared after confirmation, starting another request or closing the tab.
Guest requests are retained while being handled and for follow-up, subject to deletion requests and applicable recordkeeping needs. Use the guest contact form to request access, correction or deletion. We may need to verify your identity before releasing or deleting information. No fee is charged for submitting a request. BOOTH plans to charge a disclosed service fee through purchase or rental checkout when payment processing is activated; no supplier referral commission is charged in this pilot.
Before Handing Over Gear or Money
Confirm the counterparty, agree the exact inventory and terms in writing, inspect or document the equipment and keep an invoice or rental agreement. Never share passwords, bank login details or verification codes in messages. If something seems wrong, stop and report it.
